Day one was yesterday. That was the day I thought I would start running.
Today is day two, and the first day I actually did some running.
I am using a running app called C25K from the Google Play App Store. I started with a lovely five minute brisk walk around my apartment complex. Then the running began... The first day is alternating running and walking for 60 seconds each. I made it to the half way point and then finally went home.
What worked:
I only brought my phone and head phones. The app tells you when to run and when to walk and then is silent. This made me feel safe since I could still hear what was going on around me and I only needed one earbud in.
The weather was nice! Not to hot (surprisingly), and no wind made for perfect weather for running.
What Kept Me Motivated:
Today this kept me going. I did so much better than if I just stayed at home on the couch (or in my reading chair)!
What didn't work:
Water! I didn't have any. Friday I will set a bottle on the trunk of my car for a drink when I pass it.
Also, walking laps around the apartment complex is already getting boring. Need to find new places to go!
Tomorrow, Thursday, is my rest day. No gym and no running! But, I am already looking forward to trying again on Friday!
